Logging in and logging out confusion on iOS
Logging in / out on the Firefox for iOS seems to be a real mess. Here's my situation: When I open Firefox on my iPad and touch the hamburger (three horizontal stripes) the first item listed is my work email account. So it seems I am logged into Firefox with my work email. I looked everywhere, five times, for 'sign out', can not find it. I did a Google search and I checked the Firefox forums, seems there are a boatload of forums where users can not figure out how to sign out of their Firefox web app on iOS and on Android; either of the mobile platforms. All of the 'answers' or 'solutions' I found referenced Firefox on Windows, even when I did a search using "iOS" or "iPad" in quotes. After way too much wasted time searching all over forums I found a few threads regarding the mobile versions, and they said that sync must be disabled to disconnect the account, or that it is necessary to first log in to initiate sync. All of the instructions given provided steps that were not possible to be followed on Firefox for iOS. Even more confusing, when I go to 'settings' (the gear icon), the very top option provided is 'sign in to sync'. That is weird because before choosing 'settings' which is under the hamburger, it already shows my work email account so it appears that I already am signed in. So if I proceed with 'sign in'... will it also sign me out? Or will it merge my work and personal bookmarks? OMG what a mess. Based on the terrible amount of confusion I have seen in many threads, and the brain-twisting strange lack of basic clarity that is provided in Firefox iOS, it seems to me that the sign in / sign out and sync situation with Firefox on mobile is nothing short of a chaotic ill-programmed disaster. To the programmers: Signing out and signing in and syncing data is basic functionality that has been available on computers and web applications for 30 years. This should not be such a horrible mess. Please fix 'er up quickly. I like Firefox and I believe in the mission of Mozilla but using the browser on mobile makes me want to run back to Evil Chrome.
