The TODAY highlight does not automatically follow the datei, I must always click to get the correct day highlited.
I run Thunderbird/Lightning 24/7 and the TODAY highlight does not automatically follow the date after the latest update, I must always click the circle to get the correct day highlighted. Very annoying. It did use too before the latest update. And yes I've restarted it after the update.

What OS are you using?
Can you clarify a point. You are about the 'Today Pane' which can be enabled on the right side.
The 'Today Pane' can be viewed whether you are viewing in 'Calendar' tab or 'Tasks' tab or even when those tabs are closed.
I understand you mean if you leave computer on and Thunderbird running and it goes past midnight, the 'Today' date is not auto progressing to show the correct date, after midnight it is showing yesterdays date.
Does this occur if at midnight, if you are viewing in 'Calendar' tab or 'Tasks' tab or when those tabs are closed. It makes no difference or only occurs when viewed in the Lightning tabs.
Does this occur if at midnight you have select 'Events' or 'Tasks' or 'Events & Tasks' or it does matter...it does not work as expected in any.
Other than Lightning, what other addons do you have installed ?
If you have other addons, would you run an over night test, disabling all addons except Lightning and report back on results.
I'm gathering data for a bug report and your help would be appreciated.
Will run a test tonight with "gContactSync" and "Provider for Google Calendar" disabled. These are the only add-ons I have enabled besides "Lightning". Both are needed as Google Calendar and Hangouts are primary apps on all my devices. "Stationary" (for my old Outlook pretty fancy backgrounds and colors e-mails) and "ThunderKeep" (for Google Keep - my primary Post-It notes app on all my devices) were disabled several versions ago which were my only other add-ons.
Did the overnight w/all add-ons but Lightning disabled. Did NOT change the date in the Today Pane (for any mode).
Could you check this query and report back on your setup. Q: Is Lightning's timezone set to something different from the computer system timezone?
Q:What is your computer system timezone and what is the timezone in Lightning ?
If you update to current version 68.5.0 does the issue appear to get fixed?
Time Zone for Computer: (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Time Zone for Lightning: America/New York
AFAIK that's the same time zone.
Updated Thunderbird, I'll let you know tomorrow if it changes automatically.
Nope, it still doesn't change the date.
Another user had same issue and the update fixed their problem. Sadly, not in your case.
I presume you are using current version 68.5.0. Would you try uninstalling the program (not the profile) and downloading a fresh copy from this link: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/#E If you are using Windows OS, I suggest you download the 'windows32bit' option.
I've given up on Lightning. At least Google Calendar on my devices works. Not getting reminders from Lightning on my desktop is a bummer tough.
