Are you saying you cannot see the folder called 'Spam' in your Folder Pane?

If this is an IMAP account, check you need to 'Subscribe' to see the folder.

  • Right click on imap mail account name and select 'Subscribe'
  • Click on 'Refresh'
  • Select Spam folder
  • click on 'Subscribe'
  • click on OK

Usually emails that are thought to be junk/spam are marked as junk/spam and upon download are either moved to the specified folder or in the case of imap accounts, the server may have already marked it as spam and moved it into the server spam folder.

If you have a POP mail account only emails in the server Inbox folder can be downloaded. If the server moved that email into the server Spam folder then Thunderbird cannot download it because it is not in the server Inbox. Suggest you log on to your webmail account via a Browser and check the server Spam folder.
