I deleted some unknown certificates & now cannot access some websites, how can I retrieve the certificates?
I was looking through all the certificates today & found many that looked dubious to me, from unknown companies in China, Taiwan, Turkey, etc. I 'deleted/distrusted' several of them, although they all seem to have since re-appeared (at least some have for sure). But now I find there are some websites I cannot connect to. I suspect I have deleted part of the trust chain between the website & firefox browser. Is there anything I can do to restore the required certificates?

You can't remove builtin root certificates permanently, but you can remove intermediate certificates (designated as "Software Security Device") that Firefox caches for future use when you visit a website. If you visit a website that doesn't send all required intermediate certificates then you will get an error if Firefox hasn't cached the intermediate certificate from a previous visit.
You can click the blue error code and inspect a base 64 encoded certificate via a website like this:
