Why does Firefox crash completely whenever I have to click and drag something into my browser? (examples: e mail attachments)

more options

Getting pretty fed-up with this issue.

Here's the scenario... Firefox power user here. I use it for several tabs and work throughout the day. Once ANY Firefox session is open for a few hours, when I try and click and drag a file into the browser, for operations such as e mail attachments, my browser completely crashes, and I lose all of my tabs and progress.

It has happened almost every day for the last year, and if I cannot get an answer I will sadly have to switch browsers as repeated patterns of time wasted is not my jam.

A year?! You have amazing patience to put up with it that long.

Does Firefox detect the crash and present the Mozilla Crash Reporter window? If so, your Firefox may have logged some data that would help track down the cause of the problem. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" for steps to get those crash report IDs from the about:crashes page, and then post some of the recent ones here.

If not, perhaps the Windows "Application" log (available in the Event Viewer) has some details about the crash that might be helpful. I don't know if we have an article on that.
