Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox because it wouldnt open. However I now cant access my pinterest account and had difficulty with facebook too but eventually got that sorted in a very roundabout way. However when I received their emails with the reset password link I couldnt access them as my computer wouldn't allow it. I only have a few saved passwords for accounts and none of them work now What to do?

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What are the exact error message(s) ?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

In what way didn't your computer allow to access/open these links?

What security software do you have?

It is possible that (anti-virus) security software is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks everyone. I'll work through the possibilities (with some help from someone more tech savvy then me! ) I am thinking it may be the password protection software as I received a new electricity plan to sign up to today and my computer wouldn't let me set up the account. Error message says 'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact systems administrator"

This is a problem with Outlook that isn't able to open this link (file extension) because some registry key(s) are corrupted.

You can try to redo the default browser setting and temporarily set another browser as the default browser. If that doesn't help then try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. When you are on Windows 10 then make sure to set another browser as the default browser before uninstalling Firefox.

Is it caused by a malware?

I'm not very good at computers so left it to him. i do know that he removed the VPN and password protect functions of my internet security as they probably contribute to the problem and suggested I upgrade to Office 365 as Office 2007 probably doesn't work well with new versions of Mozilla Firefox - not surprising and just hadn't got around to it. I can now access pinterest and another couple of sites I was shut out of. Wish I could tell you the other details but just don't know sorry - hence my need for a tech guy!
