How to restore a session after formatting my PC?

I synced my firefox account before formatting my PC, and now that it's done, I thought I'd have the option to restore that session, since many tabs are like notes on a notebook - I can't lose them, but they're not recent so I couldn't hunt all of those 1.500 (no kidding) because they're not in recent history. I thought there would be the restore session button there always was, because it shouldn't be files in my PC (which are now gone to oblivion), but in the mozilla cloud. Did I just lose all of them?

If the sync didn't update to other devices with the lastest sync anything after that sync date is gone.

And have you read this yet: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox/sync

Note that Sync isn't meant as a backup. Synced tabs expire in about a week, so you do not keep them indefinitely. Do you see these tabs on other connected devices?

You can check if you have a C:\Windows.old folder.

my phone was and still is synced, and I can even see recent tabs from it on "other devices". however, the profile I want to restore, although listed on the "manage" page, doesn't even appear to exist elsewhere.cor-el said

there's no folder, unfortunately. it was a clean wipe
