Why my goodness is Mozilla not able to fix the since Years known issue of the non working Junk Filter. Is it so much difficult to implement this??
The Junk Filter seems to be a real challenge to the developers. Searching for solutions I found many Years old questions and possible solutions. It seems no one worked in reality. More than 50 times I declared messages from a specific Subjekt or sender as no Junk. But it's always shown as junk and a new message from the sender is declared as Junk immediately as well. In a short status I would say it is BS!!!

Thunderbird's junk filter takes no notice of the sending address on an email, simply because, for genuine spam, they are usually spoofed or a compromised mail server/ mail accounts that exist for perhaps a day.
Words and phrases do come into the mathematical equation used to determine if a message is to be considered spam. For particular senders and domains we recommend you use a message filter if you wish to not receive the email in your inbox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/organize-your-messages-using-filters
Perhaps it is the fact that many users appear to think a junk filter should resemble a blocklist is the reason some think the spam filtering is broken. From where I sit after using it for around 10 years I am not only happy with it, I am far more satisfied with it that I am with those of Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail.
There is information here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Junk_Mail_Controls
This information, like the junk filtering itself has been largely unchanged for a number of years.
Hello Matt, thank You very much for Your answer. Unfortunately it seems that I'm not smart enough to understand the buttons "Junk" and "No Junk". I thought it's like "On" and "Off". I thought oh so easy!! But also with Your explanations I don't get it. What are these 2 switches good for?? What is the function?? Thanks a lot in advance.
