Hi - I'm really stuck! I've tried to migrate my emails to another computer. I moved my Thunderbird folder on to Dropbox (instead of copying it). It then transferred over to my new laptop, and unfortunately, Thunderbird doesn't seem to find the new folder. I seem to have a few very old emails, and some in the trash, but not the whole set. I've tried to follow the help article, but I couldn't make it work. Thank you. Angus

Hi Angus Please could you say in more detail how you found the profile folder that you moved? Based on what you said about seeing only a few very old emails, you might have chosen an old profile, not the current one. Also, can you access your current emails by using webmail? If your email is stored on a server elsewhere and not downloaded until Thunderbird connects (IMAP), then your email may still be on that server. If you can see your emails online, then try not to let Thunderbird connect until you have a safe backup of those emails. You don't want Thunderbird to 'tell' the server that you have deleted all emails. That's just a few basic checks, I hope a more experienced guru can help you recover your profile. Best, Agnes

Thank you Agnes, for your reply. I've sorted it now. Not quite sure how, but I think I had a folder within a folder and so it was looking at the wrong profile.

I'm so glad you found the right profile - it's a horrible feeling when everything is just gone... Agnes
