New firefox erased all my tabs

more options

Look, I can't find any guidance on this after several net searches and more to the point I'm just really angry. Because look, I feel this whole update was extremely misleading. I was simply prompted to update my firefox, which happens frequently enough. I clicked yes, downloaded and ran the update, and restarted firefox. And the some 30 odd tabs of my reading, videos, Japanese dictionary searches (some of which were to be made into flashcards), and other longstanding research materials and I must mention, every single damned bookmark I had made in 8 years of using firefox on this computer...all gone, for an update that I wasn't told up front would be so sweeping. I didn't have a firefox account, didn't have all this stuff backed up, I just depended on firefox to not delete all my personal cookies and cache from my computer and I have no idea how to undo this, whether undoing this entire unholy, irritating update, or getting my information back. I used to do the whole renaming/restore the sessionstore files to an earlier version, but they're not even there on my computer anymore.

I used firefox mostly because I didn't like being logged onto google, particularly with all my data being saved and cross-referenced on google every time time I logged into google, (its irritating when you move from personal computers to work computers). Regardless of having to have yet another stupid digital account I don't want to manage, at the very least, I want to get back my tabs, my 9 years of bookmarks, my entire fricking browser history, etc. Because if they were going to delete all this, with it going over to a firefox account, the update should have said "register with firefox first and backup your account", not just, instead, for the 100th time "your firefox is out of date. You should update it right away."

If the user fails to do a proper tab to bookmark and then backup the bookmark - losses and the bookmark can be restored. If you log into google account anything browser related google will be connected this firefox can't prevent.

Also did you read this:

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

See also "Determine if Firefox has created a new profile":

You can open the about:profiles page via the location bar to check whether multiple profiles are present and what profile Firefox currently is using.

Firefox 67 and later can use a dedicated profile for each of the Firefox update channels and will lock the profile, so it can only be used by Firefox in a specific installation folder. For Release versions this profile would be a xxxxxxxx.default-release profile, profiles used in older Firefox versions usually used a xxxxxxxx.default profile (a refresh adds a time stamp).

Where are my bookmarks Mozilla. I am SEETHING. I did the update. It asked me to create a Firefox account. Irritated, but I did it. It asked my age. Feeling even more annoyed (why do you need my exact age???) I put that I was five years old. It rejected me because it said I'm too young. I'm fucking 50. Now my bookmarks are gone. The one response to this issue makes NO SENSE. What does "If the user fails to do a proper tab to bookmark and then backup the bookmark - losses and the bookmark can be restored. " EVEN MEAN? What is a "tab to bookmark" is that a noun?

Hi stejamo, I'm not sure if your situation is the same as the user who started this thread but please ignore the first reply and check the second one:

Also, not being able to create a new Firefox Account is a side issue; Firefox must have already set up a new "factory default" profile when that was suggested.
