What is a private page, how do I get to it? What is an extention? What is a card? Card ment something different years ago--do I need to get into the guts?
Mozzella updated something, and then I get a window that says I won't get the extensions unless I do something. Then I get the instructions about what I am to do and it's like a foreign language. I would like to use private windows sometimes, but how do I do that (and are they really private)? And by the way, Mozzella, what in the world is an extention??? Do I want it? And really, a card? Cards reside in the box that sits on the floor! Yes, I'm using a desk top computer. I have a lap top, an I-Pad and a Smart Phone. I prefer the desk top when I have a lot of work to do! Believe it or not, I used to teach computer stuff for the Federal Government. Things have changed and you can be thankful I don't work for the Government anymore. But please help. Life goes on when we retire.

Hello Outdated,
The first sentence of your post is rather vague :
"Mozzella updated something, and then I get a window that says I won't get the extensions unless I do something"
It kind of makes me think of a fake update alert .....
(by the way : it is Mozilla, and not Mozzella)
There will of course be no way for you to provide a screenshot of that window (?)
But, assuming everything is okay; let me try to answer your questions :
As for Private Browsing - please see this article :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history
You want to know what an extension is : it is an add-on, like e.g. an adblocker - see :
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/What_are_WebExtensions
You can search for extensions here, should you want one :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
Then you mention a card ..... I really have no idea what that is about - could you be a bit more specific, please ?

Thank you McCoy! If Mizella had been a little more specific I might not be bugging you all so much. Anyhow I was updating my privacy settings (if I knew how to keep them from getting wiped out every time the computer gets rebooted I would) and I got a message when I pushed the button to Content Blocking to block the third party trackers. The message said I had to reboot because of something to do with extensions. Now that, thanks to you, I know I don't want extensions I don't need to do anything. The card issue was from the section on how to select sites you want to keep the extensions. I hope Mozilla reads this stuff. I know better than to not use terms in instructions that the casual user does not know. I appreciate your help.
You weren't bugging us at all, no worries.
I'm glad that it's all clear now (I was suspecting a fake update alert when I first read your post).
Have a nice weekend !
