I have been using Reminder Fox for ages, and deliberately use and do not update the most recent version of Firefox that supports it. Today I suddenly get a message that it can't be verified for use with Firefox and has been disabled. No warning, no consultation, no chose! Yet another example of arrogant 'we know better than you' attitude. This is unacceptable. I have multiple up-coming medical and other appointments etc which are now unavailable. The hotfix appears to have been applied and I have reset the verification requirement to false and restarted Firefox. Still no sign of Reminder Fox. If it can be remotely disabled then it should be able to be re-enabled. It is my risk and my right to run whatever I wish on my own computer and it is not the prerogative of Mozilla or anyone else to unilaterally and without consultation to over-ride my decision. I am forced to ask for help in this forum as it appears to be impossible to actually ask FireFox support any questions. The options provided by Mozilla are unhelpful. There is no reasonable alternative with the functionality that Reminder Fox offers, and no alternative that will even accept Reminder Fox data. The developer is no longer in business - probably driven to quit by the actions of Mozilla development! I would be most grateful to anyone who can provide either a fix for this problem, or a method of contacting Mozilla support.

A certificate for verification of signing for extensions expired at midnight 5-3 / 5-4 UTC and that's why your Reminder Fox extension quit working. Sorry for that.

A fix is almost ready for the current Firefox 66, and one is in the works for ESR 60.6 and for Firefox for Android. If any fixes are made for the older E-O-L versions like Firefox 56 they will come after the currently supported versions are fixed. So it might be some time before you see a fix, if Mozilla decides to fix them.

Thanks for your reply, not all of which I fully understand. Are you referring to a cert of verification for all extensions or just for Reminder Fox (I'm guessing the former)? What does the fix do specifically - just update the expiry date, or does it need new certificates from each extension vendor? And, most importantly from my point of view, can I contact Mozilla to put my request for a fix for FF56?

This is about an expired intermediate certificate that is used to verify the extensions signature. You need to install a new certificate with a date further in the future (2025).

See these threads about to add the certificate manually:
