I have a Macbook Pro laptop, and I use Firefox as my main browser, but have found some problems with it that require me to uninstall it, and do a compete reinstall.... I have saved my bookmarks already, and am ready to import them to the newer install, but I would also like to transfer my existing Saved Logins over to the new install. Can anyone tel me how to save these, and transfer them please?? I do not want to have to go through and reset all of my online logins again, after the reinstall, if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance!!

What problems are you having with Firefox? Very few problems are solved with uninstalling and reinstalling as usually issues are due to your profile.

It has to do with some kind of cache - cookies storage issue, involving my IP. address, and the only real way to correct it is to completely uninstall the entire browser application, and reinstall a fresh one.... Elsewise, I could attempt to reconfigure my WiFi, which is kind of beyond my scope honestly.... I know that it is mentioned that bookmarks and such are not erased by a reinstall, but I have had it happen now three times, and am not convinced, nor I believe, do you get to keep things like Auto-Fill settings / Saved Logins, and they will have to be reset, which is troublesome. As such, I am would like to find a way to save the Saved Logins, and transfer them to a fresh Firefox installation, to be preset in the browser as before....

Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.{web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

Have you tried refreshing Firefox? This keeps all your personal data, but is effective at fixing most issues. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Who told you you needed to uninstall and reinstall Firefox?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer/profile. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.
