OK, so somebody on here MUST know the answer ? I have used Firefox for years on Windows 7, and just love it. Recently, I have moved to Windows 10, and every video, iplayer, youtube etc, is lagging, buffering or whatever you want to call it.

I have reset Windows 10 several times, and the problem still exists. I have followed every tip on here and elsewhere, without success. Including the Windows Media Pack update - Just comes up as incompatible.

Yes, I could just abandon Firefox, and use Chrome or Edge, but I believe in loyality.

Someone on here ? Please ?

How did you install W10? If this was a upgrade and not New install there could be migration problems that caused other software problem. Anything Windows related issue should be posted to a Windows forum to help you more with the Windows O/S problem.

Hi West End,

I bought the laptop from ebay, listed with a "New Windows 10 Install" I have messaged the seller to confirm.

However, if I had exactly the same video buffering with Edge or Chrome Browsers, then I would follow your suggestion to chase it up as a "Windows issue"

The fact that I have found numerous others reporting the exact same issue with Firefox, leads me to think that it is unique to this browser ?

So what reporting issue is that your getting that info from? I have no issues with YT on Windows 10. So unless those problems can be replicated on a problem free firefox and confirmed for the problem.

Westend,

Sorry, but your last post makes no sense at all.

Very fortunately, my ebay seller, not only confirmed the New Install, but provided the following solution to the Video Buffering, that worked instantly :-

In the Firefox browser in the line for entering the address write : 1. about:config 2. Agree with responsibility 3.find: media.mediasource.enabled 4. value ,,true" double click the mouse change to "false" 5. reload browser ㋡㋡㋡㋡

I hope that this can be provided for anyone with the same issue, and perhaps could be fed back to Mozilla ?

The only additional action required for BBC iplayer, is to add the Shockwave Flash extension, but easy to do.
