How do I remove an add-on which is not what I thought it would be?

I picked up a new TV remote today. It doesn't work properly. On the back of the remote it said if there are problems to contact ursupport.com. I went to the website and it said nothing about remotes. It only talked about robots! I had to make it an add-on in order to get support. I didn't get any support anyway since it was after hours. What have I done?!?! How do I remove whatever it is from my computer? Thanks!

Probably a good idea to get rid of it ASAP.

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

I think you mean urcsupport with a C

https://www.urcsupport.com/

It is a site to help you find codes to setup your cable box remote with say a TV and such.

Depending on remote you may just have to hold a button or two until TV shuts off to set remote for TV for example and not need a code.

I have a DCX 3200 and a couple DCX3400-M used with SHAW and the remotes have this same site on back. Though I have Shaw Bluesky now and the remote has the same site on back with a page for shaw remotes.
