Hi,

I haven't been able to make Flash Player plugin work on Debian 9 for months. I have tried the two alternative ways described in the Debian wiki to install it, that is to say manually from Flash Player website or thanks to a small .sh script (since there is no more package for flashplayer in Debian 9). See https://wiki.debian.org/FlashPlayer#Debian_9_Stretch

On any of these installs I get flash player crashing as soon as I open a webpage which needs it.

Here's for example a crash report for my problem: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/e87a1b4f-ec3c-49dc-a3a7-7d6f90181105 . Something I don't understand is the field "Signature" with "libasound.so" in. Dunno why it appears here, while my problem is about flash.

If someone can give me some advices on how to solve the problem, I would be very grateful! I already tried to run Firefox in safe mode but it didn't help.

Thank you ! :)

Could be a problem with audio support (libasound.so.2.0.0). Current Firefox releases no longer use ALSA, but require PulseAudio support. ALSA support has been dropped since Firefox 52 when the switch to PulseAudio has been made (Bug 1247056).

Verify that you meet the System Requirements (GTK+ and GLib) for the current Firefox release.

Thank you for your answer!

I think I meet those requirements concerning GTK+ and Glib. However, I may know where my problem come from. I have both pulseaudio:i386 and Also 32 bits versions installed.

Moreover, both packages libasound2 and libasound2:i386 are installed. That's because I tried several things to have sound working on Age of Empires 2 through Wine, but that's not our problem here.

Maybe Flash Player somehow messes up with those 64 bits and 32 bits versions. Could be the issue here. Otherwise the sound is working perfectly fine on Firefox outside of Flash medias.
