I recently updated from 48 to 58 and hated it so went back to 52 ers. I had book marks and those disappeared, though all my open tabs made the switch fine. The box for the toolbar book marks is there, i have moved it, still doesnt work. Cannot manually add (can enter info and click add but window closes and nothing gets added), drag and drop, or anything to the toolbar. Went to "Show all bookmarks" and there is nothing there, all colums are blank, bottom says "select an item to view". teh gear icon with add new bookmark is greyed out and so are any options under it. the star icon works an shows my back up logs to revert too, but when i go to select restore them it gives me the error "Unable to process the backupfile" I have tried safemode with themes turned off. I have tried cleaning up various profile files: places, xul, and localstore. i even tried the addon manager for places and it said the file was sane. its like bookmarks is just broken. period. I dont care about retrieving my old book marks so much as i just want bookmarks to work.
