Suddenly Firefox is preventing me from viewing the website I use to see the television schedule. I don't need Firefox being my Net Nanny. How do I disable this annoyance? How is it even happening all of a sudden -- I'm using an old version, 52.0.1 (64 bit) ESR. This seems like a site certificate issue.

Also, asking ME to contact the site is ridiculous. This kind of site does not provide any way contact them !!! And why would I risk I giving them my email so it can be stolen or sold for spamming me?

I have noticed via NoScript addon that recently the site has added some scripts that go to sites that perform tracking -- but in order for me to utilize NoScript to figure out which ones I want to block, I need to get to the site. And Firefox has no business unilaterally preventing me from going there!

Non of the fixes suggested here make sense, since I have not made any changes. Firefox is suddenly denying access. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems

I tried turning off "Query OCSP responder servers to confirm the current validity of certificates" in Preferences, but still fails to load the page

This server is very sensitive to what cipher suites are offered in the TLS handshake. I have to disable a lot of them to make the website work.

I've attached a screenshot of the about:config page that security.ssl3 cipher suites that I needed to disable.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Keep in mind that other website may require cipher suites that you need to disable for this website.

Thanks. Going to bed now. I'll figure out what "cipher suites are offered in the TLS handshake." means tomorrow. So something in their site seems to have suddenly changed... ??

Well thanks for the forensics, but the next day - it was loading normally.

Its just that Firefox should not be able to dictate my choice of security level.

Really tired of having access to sites blocked by a nanny developer. This setting does not exist in 52.0.1 (64 bit) but there must be something similar I can adjust ??? > Copy security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling from here to paste on the search bar of the open page. Then double-click on it from the result to set its Value to be false. > FROM https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/solved-secure-connection-failed-firefox/
