Secure Connection Failed errors

more options

I am getting Secure Connection Failed errors on https://pixhost.org/

I looked up the certificate for that site and it seemed to be up to date.

I am using FF 56.0.2, Win 10, and no I do not want to update. I run script add-ons that are not available for the latest FF version.

Why are people only having this problem on Firefox?

Seems like quite a few people are having the same issue and there is no solution?

You can click the "Advanced" button to expand this section and show extra details. If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER) then click the blue error message to expand this section and show the certificate chain.

You can click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste this base64 encoded certificate chain text in a reply. That will allow us to details like the issuer of the certificate.

See also:

  • always be cautious when you get an 'Untrusted' error message
  • never create a permanent exception without investigating the cause and only use this to inspect the certificate

I do not see any of those "Advanced" options.

There is no option to copy to clipboard.

Below is the only text that I can copy from Certificate Viewer Info -

If my ISP was preventing it why can I open the page in IE or Chrome?

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Probably you've seen this article: Secure connection failed and Firefox did not connect.

Does the error page give any other information?

Have you tested in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
