how to increase composition fonts greater than what's available?
I would like to be able to increase composition font size considerably greater than what's available. Any solution to this? Thanks. J. B. H.

There's really no point in trying to send, i.e. embed, a non-standard font or font size, as recipients can control their own display fonts, just like the sender. If you need to deliver a document with absolute fonts, create it in a word processor or pdf editor and attach it to an email.

You could try this: 1. Highlight and copy your text into Word 2, Make the text as large as you want 3. Copy your text back to Write
Merry Widow, thanks for your reply. I tried your method and increased the font to GIANT size, and when copied to compose it copied to Thunderbirds maximum.. Sounded like a good idea, but no cigar. J. B. H.
It's not recommended to copy from Word into TB unless you use Paste Without Formatting (Ctrl+Shift+V), and it's also not recommended to change the default composition font (Tools/Options/Composition/General) that is embedded in the message (recipients can override it with their display settings).
But if you want to adjust the font sizes and styles as they are displayed to you, look in Tools/Options/Display/Formatting/Advanced.
Thanks. I gave it a shot and experimented a bit. It indeed increased the fonts to very large size, but it shifted the range and wouldn't allow me to reduce the font back to normal until I went back and restored it to normal again. I was hoping I could expand the range from normal to giant size. Good idea, though.
If you don't want to set a size in Options, it's always possible to temporarily zoom the text and/or graphics by rolling the mouse wheel while holding Ctrl. Reset the size with Ctrl+0, or from the View/Zoom menu in the composition window.
Apparently, Thunderbird won't allow very large font to be sent. So, there may not be a solution to what I'm trying to do. Thanks, anyway. J. B. H.
