When are you getting this? Homepage, start page, new tab?

more options

Im running latest Windows, ran Firefox update from Mozilla website. When I open Firefox, instead of going to home page it runs something to the effect: new tab - then null.com then ends up at a page called calacom.com. I've looked in extensions and there is nothing there or in Add-ons that relates to this dummy page.

more options

There are bad add-ons that can change options without confirmation.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I did try to start in Safe Mode but it seemed to get hung up and never opened. I don't have the full address but it did start with the null.com/ address and just kept me on a blank screen.

Tha is very odd. Another program may be the issue.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

That Calacom.com is a browser hijacker and running those malware scans, as advised by both Pkshadow and FredMcD, is a must.

But you need to do more :

Go to the 3-bar menu (or   'Tools') => Addons => Extensions and (besides CouponXplorer) look for any unfamiliar or suspicious looking extensions.

When you find any : remove them.

Do the same in Windows Control Panel.

However :   most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans :

They all work differently   -   what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
