Hi  !

Maybe you'll find this helpful :

Type in the address bar about:performance (press Enter)

I found two add-ons : one pertaining to add-ons and the other pertaining to tabs :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/about-addons-memory-2016/

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/task-manager/

See also the about:memory page.

I was afraid of that - the add-on hasn't been updated in over a year. Maybe you could try to contact the developer and ask him if he's planning on migrating his add-on to Webextensions .....

This add-on also hasn't been updated in quite a while :

VERY explicit! :) about:memory

But not just in time when CPU goes high, what not necessarily corresponds with high memory usage. Realtime measurement in such complexity only for the branch addons would be more fine. This shoud be handled separately by a Firefox Extension :)

Now i have to provocate or to wait for the same bad FF-Situation...^^

Nevertheless thank you very much!

ps: i found the Addon More About, which adds MANY "about:" options under help, memory too :) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/more-about/

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the developer is planning on migrating his add-on to Webextensions - hasn't even updated since January ......

The about:performance page : not useful at all  ?

Performance shows only tabs i think, not extensions.

Ahh, I should have realized that you're only interested in how much memoy extensions use (sorry  !) Just a thought : why not ask the developer(s) of the extension(s) you use to include that in their 'About this Add-on'  ?

(or to just tell you how much memory their extension uses ..... )

I do not think that FF has an about:memory-extensions option. So the developer can not present it while he will not program such routines... what perhaps he cant..?

And the about:memory has limited functions: "For add-ons that use XUL overlays, such as AdBlock Plus, the memory usage of those overlays will not show up in this sub-tree; it will instead be in the non-add-on sub-trees and won't be identifiable as being caused by the add-on." https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/about:memory#Explicit_Allocations

There are more utils to check memory and performance but no add-on-specific it think: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance
