I followed the steps two times but my passwords from Safari were not saved in Firefox. On one site I often use I entered my user name and password and a box appeared in the upper left asking if I wanted Firefox to save the the data. I checked yes. After logging out I later went back to this site expecting that my use name and password would appear and that log in would be immediate as in Safari. But that did not happen and the log in boxes were bright yellow. Not sure what is going on but this is a big problem for me. Help!

I couldn't tell you why the login boxes were bright yellow. If you click in the username box and press the down arrow on the keyboard, does a list appear showing your saved username? If not, Firefox either didn't save it, or it was cleared, or there is something peculiar about the login form.

To see what logins Firefox has saved, you can check the preferences page:

"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences

In the left column, click Security. Then on the right side, toward the bottom, click the Saved Logins buttons to see what Firefox has stored for sites.

Thank you but I still can't get my log ins (user names and passwords) transferred from Safari to Firefox. The Saved Logins in Firefox are ones I set up on Firefox.

One of my most important sites with a supposedly Saved Login still requires me to enter my user name, press the down arrow and select before the password is entered. Then I have to click on Log In to get onto the site. In Safari all I had to do was to click on Log In and the site opened.

Unless there is a solution to this I may have to go back to Safari which I would hate to do.

I can't help with this part.

Does this page have an HTTPS address or an HTTP address? Firefox recently changed to not auto-filling on insecure (HTTP) pages, so that might explain the problem. There's a workaround for that if that is the issue.

Not much activity and progress.
