How can I prevent a script from changing Firefox permissions to root without my having to enter a password?
I'm running Firefox 30.0 under Ubuntu 13.10 (I intend to upgrade soon...). With several windows and tabs open, video running, Firefox crashed. I tried to run bleachbit before rebooting but it informed me that FF was still running. Turns out it was running with root permissions.
I suspect some script or other (malware?) changed Firefox permissions to root without my having to enter a password. How can I prevent this in the future? Thanks for your help.
