How can I group tasks into projects?
I've been using Thunderbird for years and am finally getting around to tinkering with the Lightning add-on. I'd like to use it to keep track of tasks, but I need to be able to group these into projects or I will go insane.
For example, I'd like to be able to have a project like "Proposal" that includes tasks like "get letters from collaborators", "write research plan", and "double-check submission requirements". Ideally, these should be collapsible so I can focus on one project at a time.
Sunbird had this functionality back in the day, and it seems like such a basic tool for a task manager that I can't believe Lightning can't do it, but I can't figure out how. What am I missing?

I too found the Tasks function very limited. It's not really a 'task manager', it's just a list of things to do. Have a look at the 'Gantt View' add-on. I've never used it because I don't have a need to manage projects, but it looks like it might do what you want.
