I have a desktop running Win 10.I bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad running Win10 Pro.I created a sync account in FF to copy all my bookmarks, add ons ,and preferences from my desktop to my Thinkpad. This worked really well,BUT...I use my desktop for most of my work and make most of my book mark additions and deletions from the desktop. The problem is that my desktop disconnects from sync when I close my browser and when I log back in,it copies the bookmarks from the Lenovo Thinkpad,so any additions, rearrangements, and deletions I made on the desktop are now gone(sometimes this can be several days worth). How do I make the desktop the computer that I want other devices to sync from? This is very frustrating and unproductive.

There is no master device with Sync. Sync data is merged; made the same on both devices. The only user control is the types of data which is sync'd and the disconnect / connect "switch" in the Menu panel. When the account name / email address appears in the Menu panel, to disable Sync on that device. The device is "connected" to Sync when Firefox is running. When Firefox is closed it can't connect to the server when the device is running; likewise when the the device is shut-off.

There is no direct connection between devices. A server that interfaces with each device is in between the devices; data is fed to and received from the server.

There are slight differences in the amount or date of data that is sync'd with "mobile" devices are being used. Which is why I asked about a tablet device.
