How to stop scrolling pictures on web pages...makes me dizzy and nauseated, plus it is harmfully distracting!
Web sites are increasingly using annoying, distracting - and beyond that, harmful scrolling photos and graphics. Some of us are getting dizzy, experiencing headaches, and feeling nauseated when on web sites that have negligently incorporated that technology. I am very upset at being made to feel ill and not being given a *choice* of whether I want to see that harmful content or not. Please let me know if there is a way to turn it off and how to do it. Thanks.
NOTE: When people are *developing* "feature" for web sites, instead of thinking how "cutesie" something will be, the *most* important consideration is whether it is going to be harmful to others or not - harmful includes, physical and emotional distress, distraction, headaches, etc. Forget the "cutesie" how "cool" factor, and let's act like adults - the bottom line is healthful efficiency!

Alex, thanks for the link. I downloaded the add-on, but it's not working. Mail.com home page is still scrolling the stupid pictures horizontally and I'm dizzy every time I have to use that email account. Yahoo is doing the same bleeping thing.
Don't the bleeps that develop this stuff and come up with these harmful ideas realize that many people get sick from moving pictures on a page and that people who have *normal* brains cannot be looking at moving/flashing/gyrating pictures/photos on the page while they are trying to type and to read?! It causes attention issues, re-wires the brain improperly, leads to frustration, wasted time, typing errors, etc., and all sorts of other problems. I wish I knew *who* are the people who come up with these bleeping and worthless ideas so that a group of us can get together and contact them about this.
As far as I'm concerned, they should be sued for negligence!

Yes, each Mozilla sub-domain has its' own registration and passwords system. Even sillier is that a few years ago Mozilla created a service caller Persona - https://login.persona.org/about - to "replace multiple passwords", yet Mozilla never enabled it for their own websites - other than new websites that were created after they came up with Persona.
Did you read how to use SuperStop? It doesn't work automatically. For each page that has those types of distractions you need to hit the {Shift + Ecs } keyboard combination shortcut to stop what they are doing. SuperStop is merely intended to "fix" something that Mozilla removed from Firefox 20 years ago.
About this Add-on SuperStop is very simple: it adds a Shift+Esc shortcut that stops active WebSocket connections, XMLHttpRequests, and any animated images, regardless of the state of the Firefox Stop button. This matches the behavior of the Esc button in versions of Firefox prior to Firefox 20 (see bug 824248).
I see that you have some Firefox extensions installed, but don't have anything to block advertisements which are usually the most obnoxious visual distractions I used to see. Adblock Plus is one I can recommend. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ But currently I am using uBlock Origin. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Fewer features than AdblockPlus has, but easier on the CPU load than ABP was earlier this year when I setup a new PC. IMO, less "busy" than ABP and it requires less user input.
But neither will remove all the objectionable garbage out there, unless AdblockPlus has a filterset subscriptions made specifically for what you want blocked. https://adblockplus.org/subscriptions Adblock Plus has its own support forum here: https://adblockplus.org/forum/ The contributors over there should be able to advise you far better than I can about filtersets and how to learn how to block the garbage that causes you discomfort.
The System Detail list shows that you run an older Firefox 33.1.1 version that is no longer supported with security updates.
