Latest version of Firefox will not run on Win 7 64 Bit
Downloaded the latest version of Firefox and installed it on my newly built Win 7 64 Bit workstation. When I click the Firefox shortcut, absolutely nothing happens. No processes show up in TaskManager, nothing. Have Googled the issue and tried many recommended fixes to no avail. At a loss as to how to resolve, Firefox is unusable at this point.

In case the program files got damaged during installation, could you try:
Clean Reinstall
(A) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 41.0.1 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
(B) Delete the current program folder at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
(C) Run the installer you downloaded in (A). I suggest NOT running it as administrator.
Any improvement?

There may be problem with the short-cut.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
Locate the Firefox.com program. Create a new shortcut, and try it out.
Went to the Program Files (x86) and tried to run the firefox.exe from there. Double clicked the exe, right clicked and tried run as administrator, right clicked, then properties, then compatibility and checked the box to have the exe run in compatibility mode for Win 7. Firefox does not run at all, only thing that happens in the little spinning blue circle shows up for a sec when I double click the Firefox.exe

Hey that did the trick, works just fine now, must have had something jacked up. Thank you very much! Appreciate everyone's assistance!
I had uninstalled and re-downloaded and reinstalled before, but did not take the extra step of deleting the Mozilla FireFox folder as jscher2000 suggested, once I did that and reinstalled it worked like a charm.
