have used pornhub before but the site states that firefox can't access a server

If you right-click the error box and check the context menu, does "This Frame" appear? If so, expand the This Frame sub-menu and try Open Frame in New Tab. That may not solve the problem, but hopefully will allow you to see the entire error and the server generating it.

Sites that stream videos often use content distribution networks (CDNs), so the problem may on with a server with a completely different name or operated by a different company. I don't know whether the site offers choices of different servers (or mirrors) or whether you're just out of luck.

your info is helpful but i was not able to play the video as well as the error partially showing. apparently, the problem resolved itself when i cleared the cache. the error went away. Apparently when firefox automatically updated, the problem occurred. i can access the site now. thx

I use that site, and others, without trouble.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies
    Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

  • Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
  • Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
