WTF is going on here? When I created FireFox, I imported a LOT of bookmarks, within a LOT of folders. Somehow, many of those folders were placed within the FF "unsorted bookmarks" folder. OK, I can live with that.

I click on one folder, and the bookmarks within it appear in the list. BUT when I search a keyword, it returns the bookmarks containing that key from ALL the folders within the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. I only want to search within the single folder I have selected.

What I want to do is Search all the bookmarks that I have saved and which have been put into the Unsorted folder, then Select them and drag them into one of the topical folders from Safari (which FF placed in the Unsorted folder). But the search is showing items that are ALREADY in that topical folder. Catch-22. I cannot separate the new bookmarks from the old bookmarks.

Also, whenever bookmark a site, I have to do it twice. The first time, I cannot get the popup box allowing me to name the bookmark & put it into a particular folder. All that happens is a "star" image animates itself and seems to go into the folder image. I have to click a second time, with the a key down, in order to pop up that box. No matter which keys I hold down - cmd or option or Apple -- the popup box only appears the SECOND time. So I think I have hundreds of useless duplicates in there as well; I'll never be able to search on them becauese I have not been able to insert the keywords I use to recognize bookmarks.

OSX 10.6.8.
