Many users have many problems. Some are from compatibility issues, bad / old programs, wrong settings . . . . . . .

Can you describe, is it always slow? What is Firefox doing? What else is the computer doing?

check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337 See also:

Update Firefox to v38.0.1

Also check that all programs / library files are up to date.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Sorry if you are having crashes or problems. It must be frustrating, but we should be able to help you.

Firefox work well for most people and improves continuously. With about 1/2 Billion users even if only 1% of users have problems that is unfortunately millions of problems, but we are here to help.

If you are still using Firefox 35 that is no longer supported or safe and unless you update to a current supported Firefox there is little point in posting here as we will not be able to help you. If you are to use Internet Explorer you may find this information useful

Note Firefox does support 32 bit operation and likely will continue to do so for a long while. Firefox has been available as 64 bit versions for Linux and Mac and experimentally is available as windows 64bit versions. Possibly that is what you have heard about. There are a lot of people keen to see Firefox taking full advantage of 64 bit Windows systems.

If you would like to continue and try Firefox see

We can not do much about crashes on an unsupported Fx35 but as a first step try using safemode to see if that helps

Once you have updated to Firefox 38 if you do get crashes follow the instructions below.

Better late than never, I had intended to include this at the bottom of my last post.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
