On using Selenium webdriver, when the firefox window opens all the settings and customisation done are lost. please provide a solution for this.

when i use Selenium web driver and execute the script, new window opens in Firefox and the proxy settings along with pther customisation are gone. As firefox is unable to connect to internet due to proxy settings, the code fails always. Please help!!
