All my tabs disappeared from FF (no tab strip)
Totally flummoxed here. I no longer have a tab strip at all, and as far as I can tell, I didn't do anything to make that happen. Multiple tabs don't show, even when I know I opened a new one. And I can't seem to figure out what is on one tab or another. Sometimes when I do something that should open up a tab, instead, I get another FF icon in my Windows (7) taskbar. I can only see tabs if I customize toolbars--then I can see tabs and click on them. Otherwise, I can't see anything, or even navigate between open tabs. Images attached (yes, my Windows task bar is at the top of my desktop--that's where any sensible person would put a main menu tool). I even removed my Classic Theme Restorer Add-on, and restarted FF, thinking maybe that was the culprit (but that didn't fix the problem). Restoring a previous session didn't help, either. This is totally messing me up AND taking up way too much of my time. Thanks in advance of any help offered.

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.
At the middle right side is a Show / Hide toolbars menu.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
The Show/Hide Toolbars button is on the bottom of my screen, and nothing there helps with the tabs issue--I tried everything there. I finally clicked on the Restore Defaults button, which DID restore tabs showing up. YAY. I wish I know what I did to make the tabs go away, so that I will NEVER do that again! Thanks for your help :)
On the screen shot of Customize, it appears your "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" were on the tab bar. This might have pushed all your tabs so far to the left that you couldn't see any of them without scrolling left. I'm not sure it's supposed to work that way, but in past versions of Firefox, there were sometimes strange problem when the Bookmarks Toolbar Items were moved to a different bar.
I had already tried starting FF in Safe Mode--that didn't make any difference. I don't recall every making the bookmarks toolbar move to the tab bar--how could that even happen? I've been customizing the bookmarks toolbar for YEARS, and never had any trouble. Thanks for your help.
Do you see the Bookmarks Toolbar items when you open the Customize window and on what toolbar?
