How can I download (not sync) settings for a new device

Each time I add a new device, all of its default settings set synced. I use sync expressly to speed up the configuration of a new browser and this not only does not do that, it then corrupts the settings I have saved previously. The old sync had a method of downloading only. How do I achieve that with this new sync?

In the new sync the default method of syncing is merging. This would not be possible at this time. It would be possible to make an exact copy of the profile that is synced from the machine attached from the account and manually add it to the new computer.
