Week or so ago FF33 started getting slow, choppy, freeze then crashed. I went thru numerous troubleshooting tips from support p (it just crashed at this point) pages, uninstalled FF33, deleted FF files I could find, which wasn't all the FF33 files, installed FF35, same result.

Finally found my ram usage was high and paid attention to that. Narrowed it down to 1 website constantly running up ram usage. Doesn't matter if 1 or 30 tabs from this website are open. If 1 tab's open ram goes up until it crashes. If none are open from this site, FF is fine. I've been on this site for many years w/o problems, and really need to access it.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot cause of that specific website?

Thank you.

stltoday.com (newspaper). Each tab had 11 scripts running. Even w/1 tab open it kept using more and more computer processors and ram (3+m) till it crashed. Tween reply above and mozilla support found noscript. Installed it and it stopped all the scripts and FF stays round 3-400k ram and next to no processor usage. Running great. The web pages are a little different but I can live w/it.

Thanks.

So my comment didn't help you at all?

Oh yes it did. While writing original question I tried to figure how to phrase question so it could be understood. I have a bad habit of instead of putting info "A" w/info "A", at times put info "A" w/info "H", the go back to info "A", in other words, instead of writing clearly, a question, or comment will be confusing. Specially when I write a long comment and for whatever reason, the comment isn't posted. Which happened to my reply to your original suggestion.

After finding out about "noscript" I was skeptical that it would work but it did and I'm very grateful about it.

Thanks.

I don't mind that. That's why i wrote you that question so fast, so that i can get an answer and we can get to the bottom of this quicker. I'm glad noscript solved your problem.

That's exactly what it was, 11 scripts running on every tab. I wonder how many of the slowness, erratic, crashes questions on mozilla support are caused by excessive scripts.

You can also try and use https://addons.mozilla.org/bg/firefox/addon/flashblock/?src=search And see more specifically what kind of scripts are causing it Flashblocker should be also lighter than noscript

Thanks I'll try that.

Say, my win 7 was screwed up for days, just got it back. Had to restore it from a year old image and I lost all of FF 35's settings, addons. I use to have the accuweather addon that worked on FF 35, but lost it after the restore. I've been web searching but can't find it. Do you have an idea where I can find it?

Thanks.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

If that one is not there, there are others.
