What instructions? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I want to send the mails to their own folders, for example if mail comes from Freegle I want it to go into the Freegle folder automatically without my having to move each mail seperately , it's call a rule and at the top of the mail window are directions to set the rules up and I can't get it to work

You set up two rules and they both must match for the filter to apply. Select 'Match any of the following' instead of 'Match all ...'.

You can also activate the filter log to verify if it's working.

Sorry I can only read and understand English. I have tried 3 different filters and not one of them will work wasn't supposed to attach a quote of what I said, It was supposed to quote the reply I got

Sorry but things are getting too confusing and I cannot make sense of anything right now. I do not understand what the last reply means, I can only say I set p a rule, and it did not move the mail to the selected folder, I tried 3 times with different folders none of them worked, I have activated the log and it is showing nothing

My misplaced advice to Gnospen about the @ is based on learning that some characters are not recognized in filters. + is especially problematic.

I've tried to use @ to count email addresses in a header and I couldn't get the filter to see them, so accordingly I advised to remove them, thinking this was an example of a non-working filter.

But we need to see the content of one of your non-working filters.

I have my fingers crossed!! I tried again using the Message/ create rule from message and it seems to be working, before I was typing in the name of the one I wanted to creat, but now am letting the computer do the work . Fingers crossed its working now Many thanks for trying
