flash is causing a lot of problems with firefox hanging both in windows XP , 7 and 8.1 ( i have tried them all and found flash to be a common culprite ) (particularly FB games)

I thought flash was the issue in my problem until I uninstalled it. Firefox still crashed with flash removed.Same with Silverlight removed, but firefox still crashed.

well yes firefox itself has had a persistant problem with lots of tabs for over 6 months .... as far as i know since version 28....

seems to be related to memory handling , possibly because of the memory limit of a 32 bit program (bad programming not to make windows swap out of the used ram when not needed (useing the paging file to advantage)

i have been feeling the need to run the firefox as a 64 bit app with a coded support for encapsulated 32bit plugings/sections but i like that kind of idea especially since open office proved it can work to me and gimp

Thanks cor-el,I allowed for a few days of use with Firefox following your suggestion & it hasn't crashed since.

It was working perfectly for about 2 months,now it has started crashing again.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

What could be the issue in these reports.

Just did an anti malware scan,it found something which I have now removed.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

All of your crash reports show OutOfMemory.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
