Sync hass added multiple copies of every bookmark. How do I stop this?
I turned on syncing on all copies of Firefox and now I have many duplicate bookmarks

I used Bookmark Deduplicator which did get rid of the duplicate bookmarks. but while checking though what remained, I noticed that many folders were empty. I ended up deleting everything from all four computers and then importing my bookmarks from Safari on one. Then I backed up that Firefox's bookmarks and copying the backup file to each of the other computers. Now all have new bookmarks and I'll leave syncing turned off. Apple has a reliable syncing setup through iCloud, but Mozilla syncing still has issues.

Hi ftolar, Please make sure to disconnect the devices, make a backup of the current profiles, try one of these add ons to resolve duplicates in the current profile add ons and readd the device to the sync account.
Please post back with your results.
Such an issue can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
Check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

This is happening to me on the most recent update of firefox 34.
Sync keeps generating multiple copies of Bookmarks Toolbar and BookmarksBar. If I delete the 30-40 it generates they just come back. I can't use firefox sync for bookmarks at all. Same thing happens on both my laptop and desktop.

I resolved the issue by turning syncing off. I though since Firefox 34 advertised the syncing feature it would work better. So I need to create a new thread for Firefox to address the issue?
