Since Firefox Update to 29.0.1, I can't customize it & some add-ons don't work

more options

Hi! Ever since FF update to 29.0.1, I'm unable to customize it, (when I right-click and click 'customize' I get a blank white page with "about: customizing" in the address bar window, instead of the usual box with the usual icons in it that I used to be able to select), and at least 2 add-ons I rely on multiple times every day do NOT appear in the 'Menu Bar' nor in the 'add-on bar', (even though they are showing up as up-to-date AND enabled in the add-ons menu. The 2 non-working add-ons are "Flag Fox" and "World IP". I'm also having an issue with my Flash Plugin; for some unknown reason I get an "Error: Problem loading plugin" message, but it only happens on two sites that I've watched daily for months! (weird, huh?!) I've updated everything possible; I've rebooted my whole system; I've run my AV Program & Malwarebytes and rebooted AGAIN, but these issues still persist and I've run out of ideas. Anyway, if anyone knows how to fix these issues, I'd be SO happy! Thanks for reading my post. Any & all suggestions will be gratefully appreciated! Gratefully, Nuts4Mutts  :)

Me again...I have to add that since the update I also don't see several of the icons I USED to see, (e.g. the zoom; Ghostery & others), & as I said, I'm unable to customize any more. Nuts4Mutts

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

Thanks for your post Aman, but after trying to customize the new version of Firefox using your great suggestions, I STILL can't get some of my add-ons to work, even though the "Add-ons Manager" says they're all up-to-date. I'm SO frustrated because I rely on these add-ons many times every day, & thanks to the unnecessary update of Firefox, my hands are tied. I chose Firefox as my ONLY browser for 2 reasons: it's the most secure browser, (in my opinion), and it can be customized. Since the last update, to 29.0.1 I lost one of those 2 reasons! The add-ons that I can't get to appear are: Ghostery; Flagfox; and World IP, so if you or anyone else can figure out what I'm doing wrong that I can't see them anymore, (not even in the "add-on bar"), PLEASE let me know. I hope the people at Firefox are listening to all the complaints about this new version, (as everyone I know who uses Firefox hates it, too), and they get busy finding a way to give its users a customizable, secure browser ASAP!!! Thanks again for your help! Best Regards, Nuts4Mutts

Hi Nuts4Mutts, regarding Ghostery, Flagfox, and World IP, it's possible that these extensions are hard coded to use only the Add-on bar. Did you use the option of Classic Theme Restorer to show that bar? I think the Ctrl+/ keyboard shortcut still should work to show and hide it, or you can right-click a blank area of the tab bar (or right-click the "+" button on the tab bar) to turn toolbars on and off.
