I just noticed today that my drop down from my address bar no longer had anything to offer. So I went to my history in my MAIN profile and there is not a single entry. I can type in a URL to say amazon.com, and without even closing Firefox, I can clear the address bar and type ama and NOTHING!!!. Instead of messing around with any files in particular I went to my MAIN profile, because my second profile which isn't used often seems to be just fine. I deleted every file in that folder. I took out my external SSD which I backed up on June 22 and copied all the files from it into the empty profile. I then opened up Firefox and voila, it appears all my history was there. Then just to double-check myself I started typing and nothing. I hadn't even closed Firefox and once again, all my history is now gone. Does anybody have any thoughts?
I even deleted Places.sqlite, places.sqlite-shm, and places.sqlite-wal so that Firefox would rebuild them. After they reappeared I overwrote Places.sqlite with a backup but none of that helped. That was an AI suggestion, as I am not that well versed.
