I'm a longtime Thunderbird user. Today, it stopped working to send messages. (I can still receive messages OK.) When I try to send, it does the spell-check, but then doesn't do anything. I have been unable to send emails for several weeks and keep getting the following error message: sending of message failed The message could not be sent because connecting to the outgoing server (SMTP)smtp.1und1.de failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

My settings have not been changed so I am wondering what has changed and how i can correct it. My computer knowledge and ability is very limited so please bear theis in mind when offering advice and solutions. Thank you.

Ever since the latest update, when I hit send for an email. It says it cannot send, I cancel, hit send again and it goes through. I have to try sending EVERY email twice.

I have been using Thunderbird with two POP3 Hotmail accounts for some time and I am trying to set up a third account with exactly the same configuration. However, both the automatic and the manual configurations failed. The new account receives mail, but the outgoing smtp server config seems to have a problem. Sending messages times out or keeps prompting for a new password.

The Hotmail account has POP3 and IMAP enabled. Thunderbird is set to receive all cookies. I cleared history and cache after every attempt and also temporarily disabled the firewall.

Any suggestions about what the problem could be?

Many of my emails received are auto marked/shown as having been read. This means I never know which of my many emails received are new and which I have already read. Particularly annoying as I have a number of aliases and a number of folders to put them in. I am actively considering going back to MS Outlook, which would be regressive.

Hi, I use thunderbird as both POP and IMAP through gmail. I keep all my emails on my POP thunderbird desktop client. I use IMAP on my thunderbird laptop client, iPhone, iPad via Apple mail when remote, then download the emails to my desktop.

What I want to do is read emails and set them to archive on my IMA laptop, iPhone, iPad. I know Gmail tags the archived emails. How do I stop thunderbird from downloading the archived emails to my POP thunderbird desktop client?

Send Message Error "Sending of mmessage failed. An error occured while sending mail: Outgoing server SMTP error. The server responded [192.1680.166] Helo command rejected: IP address 204.237.106.179 Blocked due to Abusive Authentication Behavior."

Problem recently developed. So far on 2 different addresses but could be more. Additional info, hotmail and gmail accounts sending work OK; xplornet.com account is the problem interface but the C/Svc folks say it's a Thunderbird mail issue.

Though I was successful at getting Yahoo to install- I could NOT get my tuta mail account nor my Zoho mail account to install and run. I don't understand why- any solution posted on AI are too technical for me to understand and invest soo much time to try and figure out. Can I please get some help to activate my accounts here ? Email will not send. Message-- "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Email rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." I am not sending to another person but testing with my personal email. Thank you.

I have been using thunderbird for years now and I love it it keeps my accounts all together and I like that. however, I am trying to set up a new email account gamingconsole360@outlook.com and I keep getting an authentication error I am trying to set it up as a pop3 account but I get stopped before I get that far some sort of authenticaten error. I tried manual setup and this is what I see in the hostname box .outlook.com and it says under it Hostname empty or invalid. Only letters, numbers, - and . are allowed Please help

I have recently installed Thunderbird to help me with my overfull Yahoo account. I installed it using the default Yahoo authentication which seems to work fine. Since Yahoo exposes at most 100,000 messages in any one mail folder, and my inbox had over 250,000, my goal is to spread those out amongst a few different folders so that I can manage the inbox more effectively offline. To that end, I set up a couple of saved search folders, each of which selects e-mails within a two-year date range. Incidentally, each only selects about 1,000 messages at a time, not the 40,000 or so each of those time periods seem to contain. When I use my Ctrl-A shortcut to select the messages in one of the 'search' folders, then move those messages to my Yahoo mail folder under my e-mail account, the messages initially are wiped from the saved search folder, but after a few minutes they all return!

Incidentally, the saved search folder has the same name as the folder I'm trying to copy the messages to, but the search folder is under the Inbox, and the other folder is 'beside' (not under) the Inbox.

Let me know if there is a more efficient and effective way of doing what I want. Ultimately, I want well under 100,000 messages in my Inbox.

I have new e-mails from some company. I can search for the company and the e-mails show up (as recently as today) but in the list I only see e-mails as recent as 35 days ago. I see TB periodically download new messages but they don't show in the list. I have searched all over for a solution and nothing has worked. I have no Message Filters and I have no Quick Filters active. I have tried both repairing and compacting the Inbox. Does anyone have anything else I can try?

I tried everything and I mean everything and I am still getting this error shown in the image attached. Can someone help?

• Un installed and re-installed thunderbird
• created new profile

P.s. This is an office 365 account
