I can receive mail fine. Cannot send mail on gmx.co.uk acct, but gmx.net works on oauth2. But oauth2 is missing on gmx.co.uk It's just not on the pulldown. I tried a new thunderbird acct for gmx.co.uk but oauth2 is still missing.

My friend Ken has been using Thunderbird successfully for a long time. in the last 2 weeks, yahoo popups have shown up that prevent Thunderbird email usage. How do we get rid of them?

I have never deleted so many emails at one time, around 500. Did I exceed the limits of Thunderbird? I cannot log on. Cannot see new emails. I have been on emailsrvr.com and did verify my passwords. Thank You

My email is on a MS exchange server, and I have installed Thunderbird using Owl. My Thunderbird email is my main email. A couple of weeks ago, it stopped working, I then reinstalled Thunderbird, but I had trouble configuring it on the exchange server (instead of POP3 or IMAP). I can receive my email but I always get an error when trying to send email Can anyone help me? I'm desparate. My IT person wants me to switch to Outlook (which works).. I do not wish to switch. Please help.

Thunderbird has not been downloading messages for primary email, [edited]@netscape.net, since March 4. I can't locate where in TB the password is stored for the account.

I apologize for the unhelpful summary line, but I am totally new to Thunderbird and the Unified Inbox is acting so strangely that I don't have any simple way to describe it.

Many (but not all) of the emails are displayed twice in the list of messages.

When I delete a message that isn't doubled, the message disappears from the inbox (as it should).

But when I delete one of the doubled messages ONE disappears as it should and on the other Thunderbird clears the From and Subject fields and changes the date to 12/31/1969, 19:00 -- the changed entry stays in the list and the body of the email is still shown in the lower pane. The only way I can get rid of the message is by selecting another folder (ANY other folder) then when I return to the Unified Inbox the deleted messages will be gone from the list.

I can't believe that this is how Thunderbird is supposed to work, so I assume I have something configured incorrectly (although nearly everything is still at the defaults that the installation gave me).

Hi I am new to Thunderbird -previously used gmail. I have installed Thunderbird and it recieves mails as it should, but the mails only stay in the inbox for short time and then disappears ?

If I read the mail then I can find it in read mails, but the mails also disappears from that folder?

Must be a setting problem, but cannot figure it out.

I've lost my password, but I believe I have retrieved it from the Profile. The entry reads: "encryptedPassword":"MEIEEPgAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEwFAYIKoZIhvcNAwcECOabVSCGHBLGBBiqEqUXu8w7N4eAi09k0ZOIVAcs0chiziM=". Please would you indicate how to decrypt. Promptly upon resolution, I shall obviously change the password using the regular Thunderbird method.

For over a year now, I have had to resort to the Orange.fr e-mail client, which is much less satisfactory. I have used a Demo version of "Passware kit" to seek to retrieve the elusive password, and have received no satisfactory answer from it. I am not prepared to pour good money after bad.

A software solution is only as good as the support the publisher provides for it. Please answer soon.

I emphasise that, as a regular contributor of funds in the past, my continued funding of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird depends on your answering with a satisfactory, workable solution to my long-standing plight, contingent upon decryption of the password above.

Good morning

Since this morning (05/03/2026) Thunderbird freezes within a minute or two of opening the program.

Everything in the program freezes up. I cannot even close it.

I am running Version 140.8.0esr on a Windows 10 PC.

Initially I was getting a pop up warning message that ask me to confirm if I wanted to send an email with attachments of over 20 MB. There were 3 or 4 such messages. I had not tried to send such emails.

I checked the Outbox in Local folders for old messages, but it was empty. I also checked the Unsent messages files in Local Folders in the Profile folder. I deleted the Unsent Messages.msf file to no effect. I renamed and replaced the Unsent messages file. Also no change.

I checked for crash logs but there are none.

I have run out of ideas as to what to try next. Does anyone have any advice?

I cant receive emails only send them. I receive an error message when starting Thunderbird "the current operation on inbox <my email address> did not succeed"

i am confused at this point: Double-click toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true in Settings/General/Config. editor, restart TB.

The row background and text colours can be set with css (see picture):

Help/Troubleshooting Info, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, create a new folder named chrome, create a new document in chrome with a text editor, name it userChrome.css, Save as type: All files *.*, copy in the above code, change the colours as desired. Double-click toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true in Settings/General/Config. editor, restart TB.

I posted this question some time back but didn't receive any helpful answers and don't know where my post is. In the upper right-hand corner there is suppose to be 3 symbols. One to lower the app, one to make the app full screen or partial and one with an X. I have jumbled symbols where the 3 good ones are. It does it in trouble shoot mode. I tried disabling addons but I can't get the normal symbols back. Here's what it looks like... Thank you for any help.

Emails are not downloaded. for instance system says downloading 38 emails, but none come through. Constant duplication of emails that have downloaded and delete doesn't work. Info box comes up asking if there's sufficient room in memory as it won't write the emails to my mailbox. emails work fine on another system - BTmail.

Hello, I have tried to send several email replies using thunder bird but they fail because the smtp server times out. Or cannot be reached. I am a new Starlink subscriber and am wondering if that could have anything to do with the issues. The software is on my dell computer running windows 10. Any help or suggestion is appreciated.
