Hello, I seem to be having a problem with ImportExportTools NG attachments. When I pick export all messages in a folder with attachments with index (tried with text and HTML) the messages and attachments are exported. However, when I pick a e-mail that has attachments, there is no hyperlink to open the attachments to that e-mail. I then have to go find the attachments in the separate folders. In the past when I used ImportExport the attachments were hyperlinked and would open the correct attachments, i didn't have to go looking for it. I'm running Thunderbird 78.6.1 (64 bit) on Windows 10 64 bit PC. Posted this question on the developer's github website over a week ago and no answer. If this is not possible, I'm open to other suggestions on how to accomplish my task.

Hi everybody, I have just installed Thunderbird on a PC. There are 2 accounts linked to the same user name, P***@lock******** and S***** @lock******** Both accounts appear to work correctly ...BUT .. any incoming email goes to BOTH accounts, how do I stop this please ? I have "inbox for this account" ticked. What else do I need to do please. Best regards to all, Martin.

I'm wondering if there's any way to attach a tag (or something) to individual emails so I could "hover" over the email and have that tag pop up with a few key words as to what the email is about without having to open it.

What I'm trying to do is assign a few words to each email... I have a folder called "Pending Purchases," and anytime I order something online, I put the confirming email in that folder, so I can check periodically to track it. Problem is, especially with Amazon, the emails they send are cryptic, in that they give order numbers and tracking numbers, but in no way indicate what the item IS. I'm a busy little beaver, and it's not uncommon to have over a dozen orders floating around in there; some are order acknowledgements, and others are notifying me that an order has shipped. It gets tedious, opening the email, clicking on the link to go to Amazon, signing in, then seeing what the order actually IS. And I get lazy about it... every once in awhile I have to go through them all so I can delete the ones that have already shown up... and again, the tedious process of having to run to Amazon to see which item this order is... It'd be much nicer if I could assign a tag to that email (or emails) that said "smoke detector" or "camera and tripod" when I hover over the email... or right-click it and select 'tag' or something.

I realize that this feature doesn't exist yet, but I think it would be a nice addition to T-bird's functionality. I suppose I *could* just invent custom tags for each email, but again, it would get pretty tedious having to juggle everything and make sure that the tag for that item got deleted... just seems like a kludge that while it would work, would be a cumbersome way to go about it

So anyway, thanks for reading this, and I hope somebody more creative than I am has an answer to this.

Ultimately, I want to change the font for unread email in my in-basket, same as [thread]. Nothing I do in userChrome.css seems to have any effect. I'm running Windows 10. %AppData% = "C:\Users\Ron.000\AppData\Roaming".

Accordingly, I've placed userChrome.css here: C:\Users\Ron.000\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xdl9kae3.default\chrome

I have toggled toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true

some months ago I seem to have lost my spell-check (I think it had one). How do I go about reinstating it? I did download a dictionary but it hasn't linked. Thanks, terrible speller John

My Thunderbird Version 78.6.1 was installed after harddrive lost data and programs and is now configured with Account Server Settings unchecked for new messages at start up. However, messages are always downloaded at start up. Also, once unchecked in Server Settings there is no OK button to confirm uncheked boxes. I had no problem with the lost Thunderbird version but don't know what version it was. Any help to resolve would be appreciated.

How do I make my Thunderbird easier to read? The type is small. Is it possible to make it larger? I have already set my email type to 18 point Bookman Old Style. Can I do that for the entire application? Thank you!

I'm now using Thunderbird 78.6. When I reply to an email, more often than not I have to refer to other emails - from the same person, on the same subject, etc. So I want read and unread emails to be available (i.e. listed) all the time, as they used to be, without any effort from me. Now, I have to keep clicking on Unread. I can't find any way of asking for unread emails to be available all the time. Also, when I search for emails, the list can be in either of two formats, the original with one line per email, and another one that gives more information but takes several lines, so fewer emails are on the screen at once. I can't find any way of saying I always want the first format.

I keep much information in the "Notes" field of TB's Address Book; but TB's Advanced Address Book Search does not include the "Notes" field in its drop-down menu:

Thunderbird -> Address Book -> Advanced Address Book Search -> Display Name -> Drop Down menu -> many fields EXCEPT for the "Notes" field.

In the past, certain Add-Ons allowed to search the "Notes" field, but those add-ons have been either discontinued or no longer working with my Thunderbird version 68.10.0 (64-bit, Linux).

Is there a way to include the "Notes" field in the "Advanced Address Book Search" ?

Every time I get an upgrade something else changes. Having used this system now since 2008, I am finally thinking of giving up and transferring to Outlook again. I do this with great regret - but I am really not cut out for the Thunderbird world.

So If there is a solution, I might stay, but its become too much of a hassle now - I have also subscribed funds for many years.

My has husband has failing eyesight and has given up writing e-mails, primarily because he can't see what he is typing. I have gone to the setting options and changed the font to Arial Rounded and text size to huge and clicked ont the bold text button. However, the changes only last as long as it takes to write and send the e-mail. When he goes back to his Thunderbird program, all those changes have disappeared. How can I set them all to be the default settings in his Thunderbird program? Thanks for any help. --Myra

Hello, I have one Microsoft historic address, Hotmail. The genious from there creates the same, but "Outlook" address. By error, I create it in Thunderbird and I want to suppress it. I spent a lot of time here without success : I don't found how to do. Should I have to uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall it with all the other addresses ? I have several different email accounts in Thunderbird. I have attached two screen shots. Screenshot 1 is the classic view that I want on the other account, but when I go into change to classic view nothing happens. I have attached screen shot 2 to show the other view which I don't like because my attachments are not with the name. Can you assist me in getting back to the classic view?

I am a long time user of Thunderbird. Problem as per the subject line. Thus I cannot write a new email, etc. Also I don't have access to the Thunderbird menu, which I need to resolve another problem.

My husband & I both have Thunderbird on Windows 10. I have set the fonts to be large (24 pt) for both composition and display, but while both things work on my PC, only the composition part works on his. I am attaching a JPEG showing the problem. The text is large when typed, but much smaller when the message is received. I have also attached a JPEG showing the current advanced settings for fonts on both PCs.

 I thought this might be related not to fonts but to a setting in View--but I played around with those and nothing changed: the type in the messages received is still much smaller than in the messages he writes.  It is set to Classic view, message body Original HTML.
 His Windows 10 display is set to custom scaling of 110%, which doesn't seem to make any difference.
 Is there some other setting I should try to adjust?

I've read a lot of help on this - almost all of them say, "As you have discovered there are three visible TO/Cc/Bcc fields..." and: " type or select email address and press enter to move to next TO field".

None of that works. I have only ONE visible "To" field. It has no controls to change it to a Cc or Bcc one. There is a "CC" or "BCC" option beside the "From" field. Pressing Enter at the end of an address does precisely nothing.

Another copy of TB on another computer has all the features you gaily point to - but mine doesn't. Where do I find it?

Until the recent Tbird updates, I could set the fonts to Georgia, navy, and compose and receive my email (to myself) in Georgia. Now, I compose in Georgia, it leaves as Georgia, but when I view it in my inbox it is displayed in a sans serif font.

If I view the source of the incoming email, it is clearly set to Georgia - yet Tbird displays the incoming email as sans serif (though still navy).

It means that I can never see the sent message as my recipient sees it (assuming they can display Georgia, of course).

Why has Tbird made this change and how can I fix it? There doesn't seem to be as much control over fonts as there was. I am using UTF8 encoding to display £€ correctly.

I can't see anything online about this.
