Leider weigert sich Thunderbird meine Passwortpräferenzen zu speichern.

Ich muss nun bei jedem Start mein Passwort eingeben. Ich habe bei jeder Eingabe auch das Kästchen angeklickt, dass Thunderbird doch bitte mein Passwort mit dem integrierten Passwortmanager speichern soll. Nachdem ich es eingegeben habe und erfolgreich eingeloggt bin, sehe ich, dass Thunderbird es aber nicht abspeichert, denn unter "Datenschutz und Sicherheit" -> "Passwörter" wird kein gespeichertes Passwort angezeigt.

Ich verwende die aktuellste Version (habe ich bei "Über Thunderbird" kontrolliert). Ich verwende kein CCleaner. Mein OS ist Windows 10. Mein Posteingang funktioniert normal und ich kann meine E-Mails sehen und neue versenden.

Wie kann ich das Problem bitte beheben?

Unfortunately Thunderbird refuses to save my password preferences.

I now have to enter my password every time I start it. Each time I enter it, I have also checked the box asking Thunderbird to save my password using the integrated password manager. After I have entered it and logged in successfully, I see that Thunderbird does not save it, because no saved password is displayed under “Privacy and security” -> “Passwords”.

I am using the latest version (I checked under “About Thunderbird”). I do not use CCleaner. My OS is Windows 10, my inbox works normally and I can see my emails and send new ones.

How can I fix the problem please?

I have not changed my email accounts or my Google & Microsoft usernames or passwords. A few days ago when I started Thunderbird, two Google pop-ups arrive reading "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account" demanding that I deny or allow it. Why might this be happening and how do I stop it? This does not occur with other email apps such as Outlook for Windows.

suddenly I am asked for passwords on my two email accounts, and when I enter the passwords, which are correct as I've checked with my ISP...I am not able to access my email at all. Email programme was working fine about three hours ago, and now...well I am continually asked for passwords for my accounts, and then told they are incorrect? I've shut down Thunderbird after reentering passwords, have double checked settings, and had to change IMAP setting to mail. etc., as that is what my ISP has told me to put and have also changed it back to imap, but still cannot access my emails at all.

Please someone help me sort this out, it is doing my head in...and this isn't the first time Thunderbird had done this with password issues either///GRRRR

I recently got a new PC for my wife and migrated T'bird over. Unfortunately now every time she attempts to open T'bird or to send a message she MUST enter her password. We never before had this issue. What do I need to do to have it remember the password? Is this a Password Manager issue? Never used it before.

Thunderbird asks me frequently to inter the password of icloud mail and i get a message that says something like: could not log in to me.mail.com. i should generate an app specific password every time to read my icloud mail. how can i make Thunderbird stay logged in into my icloud mail? what are the settings that i have to adjust if any? Can't Set OAuth on Microsoft IMAP Server

I successfully changed the authentication method for my SMTP server to OAuth.

But when I try to set my IMAP server to OAuth, I get this error message:

The IMAP server imap-mail.outlook.com does not support the selected authentication method. Image attached. Note: I couldn't capture the whole image, as Firefox insisted on displaying the error message at the bottom of the screen where I could only see half of it. But I confirmed OAuth was the issue by changing it back & forth several times.

I thought we had to change both SMTP & IMAP. Did I misunderstand something?
