I recently made the (apparently) foolish decision to allow Firefox to upgrade using the Play store App. This is on a Galaxy S8 running Android 9. Firefox 109.2.0 was installed and upon opening the App, all of my user data was gone. No tabs, bookmarks, saved passwords or other settings were available.

This is unacceptable. There appears to be no way to recover the lost information, but I am opening this case to determine if there is a recovery strategy. Of course, I don't really want to run version 109.2.0 and will revert back to something that works without losing data as soon as the missing data is recovered.

I'm not sure why the Firefox Devs seem to think that user data is a disposable and unimportant item, but I would encourage a full review of their processes to determine why they have failed so badly.

In the meantime, if anyone has a method that might be used to recover the old profile data, that would be very helpful.

Some notes: 1) No, I don't use Sync (or whatever they are calling it today) because it is a security risk in my view to have any third party including Mozilla know my bookmarks. 2) about:profiles does not work. 3) I'm not sure what version was installed earlier, but AdBlock Plus was working fine, so it may have been a year or more since my last update.

On android playstore, I am getting a message that a firefox update is available. But there is no description about the update. How to find out authenticity of an android app firefox update and its version and reason for the release.

In the recent update, there is a new feature which allowed people to view pdf directly in the browser rather than downloading it. Ever since this was implemented, I am not able to download any pdf, instead it keeps opening up the pdf in another tab which is not what I'm trying to do. Is there a way to fix this?

The problem that i am getting is that when i am downloading a file from the browser , it only shows on the screen notification panel but not in the 'downloads' section of the browser. And when i pause the download, even after having downloaded more than 50 percent it would completely disappear and then i find no option to resume the download.. This is a major issue kindly help me sort it out.

Analysis from our engineers: 1:Music from other URLs in FireFox also cannot be downloaded, but can be downloaded normally in other browser. 2:All Android devices have problems, and analysis confirms that it is an application problem

I couldnt see a way to download your browser for andriod with using googl. which sort of defeats the idea because I wanted to use firefx as an alternative and dont need a play account. is there a download link available? thanks.

I always use Firefox mobile and Firefox Sync is always enabled.

My phone is dying and I need to rescue my Firefox browsing session : It contains thousands of tabs and collections of even more tabs (it built up because I never found a way to transfer these reliably).

A tab has a history, so back and forward pages, I need the full history of the tabs! Firefox Sync doesn't transfer these!

Firefox sync transferred 2300 tabs, but it seems that this set is incomplete as there is a large chunk of tabs missing, it's probably a thousand more. I restored these on Firefox desktop in a normal PC Firefox profile, they don't contain tab history as far as I can tell.

I also used collections in an attempt to synchronise better, there's over 800 tabs in there, I don't see these in Firefox Sync either.

Can Firefox Sync be archived/exported? I might not be able to replace the phone before my sync data disappears!

Please help me get to my data !

Hello! I use this tab. Galaxy Tab A (2016), unfortunately it is not capable to safe files from Firefox, e.g. PDF files. Samsung browser is working but I like to use Firefox. Best regards Ted Ernhill

I am using Mozilla Firefox on Samsung Galaxy A5 phone (Android version 4.4.4) since 2016. I last used Firefox on my phone yesterday. Today, when I wanted to browse internet, I noticed that Mozilla Firefox app has been removed from my phone. When I visited Google Play Store, the app was unavailable in search. We cannot get a google account because our landline neither sends nor receives text messages. We are in process of setting up and testing a cell phone, and would like to load Firefox for Android as the browser. We cannot download from google play because google demands to send a text-message "verification" code. We note, thankfully, that Mozilla does not (stupidly) do likewise to set up a Firefox account.

Hello everyone, I have two questions: Is it possible to get a direct link from Mozilla for the android APK? Because I want to use Firefox but unfortunately it is not possible to download it from a reliable source. Since my phone does not come with Google play services I have problems with getting Firefox in a secure way.

Hi, Suddenly Firefox Android can no longer open the magnet links. I can download and open the torrent with the torrent agent and I can also use the magnet links on Chrome Android, but on Firefox Android it doesn't work. I don't get any error message, it just doesn't work. I also tried Firefox Nightly, but that didn't work either. Anyone has an idea how can I solve this problem? Thanks in advance!
