I installed the Firefox Browser on my Samsung galaxy s9+ today and can't find a home button anywhere. Every time I want to go back to the firefox home screen I have to waste time by pressing the 3 dots in the top right corner then hitting the back arrow repeatedly until I get to the home screen. Or I have to open a new screen and if I don't close the other screens I just get a bank up of search screens.

Is there any way of adding a home button to the tool bar as I find that not having one is annoying and a bit of a deal breaker which means going back to chrome and that sux.

i have some custom search engines on Firefox Android 89 (settings > search > add search engine > other).

i noticed that Firefox seems to be ordering the search engines in an arbitrary order.

when i first add the searches, they appear in the order that they are added.

but after the phone is restarted (note: not the browser, the phone), the search engines are ordered in a different way.

this same order shows up in both the settings search engine list (settings > search) and also the search engine selection list (url bar > search engine)

i have observed: - it is not sorted by alphabetical by engine name - it is not sorted by alphabetical by engine url (with or without protocol prefix) - it is not sorted by order added - it is deterministic: if i delete an engine and re-add it, even if i name it something different, after a phone restart it'll still return to the same position it was before

so my questions are: 1. how exactly does Firefox sort the search engines? 2. how do i set a custom order for the search engines?

thanks!

Downloaded the latest nightly and after I think for what has been over a year, the tabs do not close when I close the browser. Hell my computer will close the tabs and give me the option to restore them.

How [removed] hard is it to add back this feature? Doesn't seem like it would be very hard. Is there some technical limitation I am not aware of? Is it poorly made that that it breaks if that feature is enabled? Can I get some answers? Or do you want to add more useless features. Like Collections. I still don't see why that was added when bookmark support has been around since the start.

The solution given for setting Startpage as the default search engine on Firefox does not work on my newly purchased Samsung A21s mobile phone. I get a message telling me to "Replace query with "%s" and then gives a Google example... Also provides a More option which gives a string to use for Startpage: "https://startpage.com/sp/search?q=%s" but that also doesn't work, it just gives the same message "Replace query with "%s". My phone is using Android V11 and is model no SM-A217F. Any other suggestions to try?

Hello - the behavior I'm seeing for Android firefox is that everytime I manipulate the url/search bar, whether to do a new search or to edit the existing url, it launches a new tab. This makes my tabs grow exponentially when I'm on a googling chain, and it's irritating. I can't find a setting to change this behavior, does one exist?

On the all results tab of a google results, all images that I click on are shrunk down making you have to click on full size image. When you click on the image when you go to the images result tab, it's not shrunk down. This isn't like this with other browsers and it's very frustratingly annoying to have to go through every time that it has made me not want to look up images if I don't absolutely need to. Don't know how to describe this to search up how to disable this option.

I'm using Firefox for Android.

On previous phones (Moto) when I was on e.g. Twitter and clicked to upload a photo, one of options was the Google Photos app

Now on a new phone (Samsung) I do not have that option. See attached image.

Is there a way to add the Photos app? Is this a Firefox thing, a permissions thing, a phone OS thing, or what?

Thanks for any help
