Until today the options for stopping videos auto playing worked OK, suddenly they don't work at all. I had changed all the settings in about:config - please see screen shot attached - a couple of weeks ago when they suddenly started auto playing and that solved the issue, but now I am back to square one. Even when I have ensured that the autoplay option is changed in the preferences section they are still auto-playing. Any suggestions please as this is driving me crazy!

I'm receiving the error that the firefox 62 version that I have does not "recognize any of the video formats available" on youtube and I have also been having trouble with being unable to open other webm formats. I have as the other solutions asked refreshed firefox to it's factory state but that has still not solved the problem. I have checked the plugins page and it does show that the openh.264 plugin is there. Not sure why this could be happening. Ubuntu Linux 18.04

Earlier today I tried to full screen youtube and It wouldn't work. I saw some suggestions on here saying delete cookies so I did and now it full screens, however the video is partway down the screen and above it is an empty white box. I've tried restarting in safe mode and deleting cookies again and neither of those worked. i'm having no issues in other browsers so I have no idea what could be causing it.

Hello, i have a problem with Firefox, i watch many stream / video while gaming, the video start shaking back and isn't smooth at all . It usually start happen when i launch a game and the cpu have a big load. I haven't this issue with chrome or edge. It happen on twitch and YouTube. I love Firefox but i can't use it for that issue, very frustrating for me.

I can search on Youtube, but when I click to watch video page loaded either only Youtube caption, with search box, and nothing more, or just black rectangular. I just now installed latest Firefox updated, disabled all extension. In Safe mode I got black rectangular with message "your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available".

This only started earlier last week, or late the week before. EVERY YouTube video, does not matter which one, who uploaded it, or when it was originally uploaded, EVERY video causes Firefox to hang for up to 10-15 seconds, ever time. And it hangs a second time if I scroll down far enough to load the comments section. So far, all I've seen being used now is the HTML5 player on YouTube, so it's something with that possibly. Regardless, it is incredibly frustrating.
Is this due to something changing with the last couple updates to FireFox, or a plugin I have being out of date (even though they all say they're fine)? If not, is there anything I can do to fix it?
You tube "show more" button does not work.
When I press the 'show more" button on you tube to load more videos, it spins and the button disappears. More videos do not load.

Hello, I have had a problem with watching videos on Youtube (Firefox crashes when loading it) but have fixed it by clearing corrupt cookies. However it seems this only works when either logged out or logged into a second account, whenever I log into my main Youtube account it corrupts the cookies, and only this one singular account. Is there a corrupt cookies tagged along with this account? All and any help is appreciated.

The audio continues to play but the video stops. I've tried everything from Malwarebytes, disabling hardware acceleration and using the about:config.

I use Firefox for my default browser. I had an add on that I was using for downloading audio from Youtube Videos. When you clicked the link under the video a long red banner opened saying to 'Download Audio' and then it showed the progress of the download in the red banner. I had my computer serviced and upgraded to Windows 10 Home. When I got my computer back the tech had set up Firefox as my browser, but no 'personalization' choices were made. When I tried to add one of the three (3) add ons for downloading audio from YT one was received a warning from MalwareBytes Virus Protection, the other two didn't seem to work or act correctly. Which one is working the best for most users and what the heck happened to the one I was using so successfully?

(If a playlist was selected, it would appear at the head of the right-hand column with the Up Next thumbnails below it.) Comments appeared below the video. On three other browsers (Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi) YouTube Default view remains the same as before, but ON FIREFOX it's changed to something quite different. In the new Default view the video stretches horizontally all the way across the screen. The height is increased proportionately, and on my laptop that means that the video won't fit on the screen heightwise -- what a nuisance, I have to scroll to see the upper and lower parts of the video image: I can't see the whole thing a once. The contents of the (old view) right-hand column now appear below the video, and Comments appear below that. To get to Comments I have to scroll, scroll, scroll. It is an ungainly and confusing layout. Peculiarly, the new Default view layout is practically the same as the Theater mode. Th only difference I see is that in the new Default view the panel above the video has a white background, whereas the in the Theater mode that panel has a black background. Now there's a useful feature! I never had any use for YouTube Theater mode. I would use either the (old, user-friendly) Default view or Full Screen. Why duplicate Theater mode features and then replace Default view with them?
I assume that this is a Firefox problem because the old Default view still appears on other browsers. I want it back on FIREFOX! How do I do it?
