Gentile Team Mozilla, vi scrivo per sottoporvi una proposta che ritengo molto importante per migliorare l’accessibilità e l’inclusione digitale: l’implementazione della funzione “sottotitoli in tempo reale” direttamente nel browser Firefox. Questa funzione, già presente in Google Chrome, permette di generare automaticamente sottotitoli per qualsiasi contenuto audio o video riprodotto nel browser, indipendentemente dalla piattaforma o dal servizio di origine. Sarebbe quindi estremamente utile per tutte le persone sorde o con difficoltà uditive, ma anche per chi vive in contesti dove l’audio non è sempre disponibile o utilizzabile. Introdurre i sottotitoli in tempo reale su Firefox rappresenterebbe un passo decisivo verso l’accessibilità universale, garantendo a milioni di utenti la possibilità di fruire dei contenuti online senza barriere. Una funzionalità simile non solo rafforzerebbe la missione di Mozilla per un web aperto e inclusivo, ma darebbe anche un segnale concreto di attenzione alle esigenze reali delle persone. Dear Mozilla Team, I am writing to propose an important feature that would greatly improve accessibility and digital inclusion in Firefox: the implementation of real-time captions directly in the browser. This feature, already available in Google Chrome, automatically generates subtitles for any audio or video content played within the browser, regardless of the platform or service. It would therefore be extremely valuable not only for deaf or hard-of-hearing users, but also for anyone in situations where audio cannot be played or easily understood. Introducing real-time captions in Firefox would represent a major step toward universal accessibility, ensuring that millions of users can enjoy online content without barriers. Such a feature would not only strengthen Mozilla’s mission for an open and inclusive web, but also demonstrate a tangible commitment to meeting real user needs. Tabs are not restoring after session closed. I have tried the profile suggestion. I verified my settings say open tabs from last session. Rebooted. Cleared cache then opened tabs then closed and it keeps only opening one tab. It crashed last night with tabs on it and this was the results once I brought it back up.

I get a stupid message saying "Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt."

But of course the file is not corrupt, others install it just fine. Is it because of the esr version..?? Thanks.

All of my bookmarks are gone When i click on manage bookmarks it is empty. Ive tried the other things and I cannot get them back. And how do i prevent this from happening on another computer? And can i opt out of updates because it seems like they create more problems for me then what they fix

It will take hours and hours to  get the website back and change all the passwords

Latest version of Firefox browser (142.1) recently installed on my laptop and desktop both running Windows 10. The former continues to support Flightradar 24. The latter no longer does. Message reads 'Unfortunately, your current browser does not support WebGL2 . . . most major browsers (including Firefox) do'! Is there a reason for this anomaly, please? Plus a solution? When I search a subject from Google, I want the search tab to remain, and for a new tab to open when I click on a link. I don't want to open the link through the same search tab.

After researching, I tried to go through about:config and I changed the browser.search.openintab to 'true' but when I search it opens through the existing search tab.

I hope I am explaining this coherently. Can someone please help me?

I deleted all the shortcuts from Firefox desktop browser's homepage and now I cannot add them back.

There are no blank shortcut icons on the page anymore. No setting to enable them. Shortcuts are enabled. Page is mostly blank, only has Firefox icon.

I tried to close and open Firefox as well as disabling and enabling the shortcut setting. Adding more rows did not do anything.

Before this issue occurred, I had one shortcut on the page that was linking to localhost. I opened the edit window to the shortcut and pasted the same address and saved changes. After that I removed the shortcut. All of the blank tiles immediately got removed from page and I had no way of adding more shortcuts.

Roughly every 2 weeks I backup important files to a external hard drive.

One of the things I always backup is my Firefox profile. I have been doing this for years without any problems.

I 7zip my profile and copy it to the hard drive.

I tried to do this yesterday (July 25 2025), and was getting access denied messages for files in the profile. So I tried to simply copy the profile. Same thing access denied.

I cleared the history, used wise disk cleaner, rebooted my machine and tried again. Same thing access denied when trying to backup or copy the profile.

I am assuming that this is happening since 141 because I updated Firefox since the last time I backed up my profile, and never had a problem previously.

Could anyone have an idea what the problem is? Thank you for your time.

In FF desktop, Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection > Manage Exceptions, my list of exceptions are being cleared/deleted/wiped. Why? I have Facebook.net and Facebook.com saved as Exceptions and they keep being wiped/cleared/deleted. Could you tell me why?

Also cookies exceptions are cleared after an upgrade, not cool.

I continue to receive this message when I open the browser. Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message

I have attempted to correct this with the various workarounds to no avail.

My browser has been acting off lately, it takes a longer amount of time than usual to even open gmail. Sometimes, it just fails to connect to a server and keeps loading forever and just stops (including gmail).

This has gone on for years now and never seems to get fixed.

Bookmarks within a folder will randomly change order. Most will stay in place, but a few of the latest ones I added, which were at the bottom, will suddenly jump to the top.

Using Firefox as my browser, I have over the last few days been unable to maintain a connection with the internet.

You will please excuse me as I am a 70 year old with limited understanding of the interaction of the internet and its terminology.

A couple of things you may need to know to offer me advise I just received a refurbished Dell laptop with windows 11. I'm using firefox as the browser comcast xfinity is my ISP I subscribe to NordVPN and NordPass

I am having a problem maintaining a connection to firefox.

I can look on the taskbar and see that I am connected via Comcast and the NordVPN and yet I will have displays of "you are not connected to the internet" or similar wording. If I need to include that, at these times, I look at the task bar and I confirm that I am connected.

In addition to this Windows 11 laptop, I have two active android phones. My Gmail, last I checked on the laptop was displaying vividly inaccurate time stamps to incoming emails. My phones however show the emails with accurate timestamps. (A difference of 4 to 6 hours like EST New York to middle of the Pacific Ocean)

I do have photos of these events, screenshots of sorts... but they're on the phone. I'm currently using the firefox browser to offer this post/question, but I sit in anticipation of it acting erratically. Finally I have downloaded a different browser to use while the firefox issue is being trouble shot.

Rather than add more possibly irrelevant information, I'll send now and let the community ask me questions.

Just updated from version 140.0.4 to version 141.0 and all my bookmarks AND browsing history are gone! I do see the appropriate files in my Firefox profile folder.

I tried following the instructions in the "Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message" article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional?as=u&utm_source=inproduct&redirectslug=The+bookmarks+and+history+system+will+not+be+functional&redirectlocale=en-US), but they are not correct, i.e., Solution 3: Update Security Software definitions does not apply as I have Defender turned off in favor of using ZoneAlarm. And those instructions say to update the definition, but there's not place to update the definitions.

I tried to import bookmarks from the Bookmarks folder, but when I click on "Choose file", Firefox either does nothing or shuts down without displaying any error.

100% disappointed with this update!
