Hi, I have updated to the latest verson 75.0, and I am a little uncomfortable for the default action when I open a new tab, the cursor focused on the address bar , and the address bar was widened and made a little shadow to the bookmarks bar which caused discomfort for me, because I always open website by bookmarks bar, no need for typing the full address in the adress bar. I have searched the config options but none is effective and also tried about:config, is there anyway not to widen the address bar or is there a configuration when I click the bookmark in current tab,it will open in new tab not replace the current tab .If it is possible by not downloading a lower verson, please let me know how to config it,thank you.

Hello,

I urgently ;-) need a shortcut to switch between open browser windows. It seems to be one of the basic ones, but is nowhere to be found.

Solutions using Tilde do not work for me becuse it's not available on my Apple keyboard.

Why not use Command +< or Command + > respectively, like many other apps do?

And why not at least let me configure that in a simple fashion myself???

Thanks for any solution!

It's so frustrating that the keyboard shortcut for closing tabs is right beside the one to quit Firefox. I've lost countless hours because of this, and it's so easy to accidentally do. Is there a way to keep this from happening? A simple "Are you sure" confirmation dialog would be great, or I really like the Chrome "hold command-Q" to exit feature. This seemingly simple function is proving extremely difficult to accomplish.

Yes, I'm aware of session restore, but (1) It does not preserve my window arrangement. I use multiple desktops for various tasks, and they each have related browser windows. (2) I need to see webpages exactly as they were when I opened them. Sessions expire, dynamic pages are refreshed, content is removed etc. That is all lost.

I do not want to disable session restore completely. It can still be useful. But, I do not want to trigger session restore automatically every time. Manual activation is ideal.

regarding: "browser.tabs.warnOnClose" I do not want a warning for closing multiple tabs. I often have many windows open and that warning gets annoying. It also doesn't prevent me from accidentally quitting when I only have one tab open.

I tried setting browser.warnOnQuit to true, but it's ignored.

I simply want a confirmation when I use the keyboard shortcut to QUIT. That's it. No side effects. Can Firefox do this?

I had Firefox opened in a main windows with maybe 50 tabs of tabs I wanted to look at (documentaries, stand-up shows, stuff from work etc). I opened a second window and while navigating in the second window I mistakenly close the main. As one does, I hit Open recently closed window. Guess what? Firefox opens a window from yesterday and a few more empty ones, but not the one I just closed. Can someone help me with this?

In the new version of the Developer Edition the options "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs" are in a sub-menu named "Close Multiple Tabs" inside the context menu. Is there's a way to change this so that they will appear directly in the main context menu? I use "close tabs to the right" often and I find this very annoying.

Hi guys, I have a problem with firefox. The option to undo close tab (whether its the shortcut, or the right click on tabs menu) doesn't work correctly for me, it always open a randomly closed page from a while ago and not the recently closed one.

I thought it was a problem with how I close the tabs (ie. if i click on the x or ctrl+w, or the mouse wheel) but it doesn't make a difference, the undo closed tab still doesn't work right.

I tried looking for a solution on here and online but found nothing concrete. So, I appreciate any help.

Problem began with not being able to open a new tab. I updated to FF 78.0.2.

Now I still cannot open a new tab and my tabs are superimposed on my bookmark folders. Clicking on that menu bar opens a folder, not a tab. FF is unusable.

Also, the three coloured buttons, appear down on the webpage rather than in the menu bar. In order to get them out of there, I have to create a title bar that holds only them and the title of the page I'm on which seems a waste of space. Can I get them on the bar next to the search box?

Image attached.

Thanks for any help. Greatly appreciated.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer. I have "restore last session" turned on, but I'd like Firefox wouldn't reopen my last visited site after I close the browser by closing the last tab. In other words: if I close the browser by a regular means (by clicking the rightmost upper X, or by right-clicking the taskbar and choosing close window) it goes to the last viewed site when I reopen the browser – and that's ok – but when I close the last tab and the browser closes, I don't want to see this site again when I reopen Firefox. Is there a way to achieve this? By the way, this is the standard behavior in Google Chrome.

In English : Hello, I use several hundred tabs (don't judge me ^^). And I would like to be able to list open tabs like you can do with bookmarks and history. You can indeed filter and select in bookmarks and history. For example, I would like to filter all open tabs containing "foo", and select the ones I want to close among those. And not to do it one by one. Is it possible ? Thank you.

Merci.

I'm on Firefox 79, Windows 10. I get jarred by the new tab navigation behaviour, where Ctrl-Tab brings you to the most recent tab rather than the next tab shown along the top. My visual limitations make it difficult for me to look up, so the tabs at the bottom are very helpful. Why this effort to place them above? I use them a lot ... and now I have to strain my eyes. Sure you see perfectly well. You could think of people with poor eyesight and older people who are forced to bend their necks. They are two centimeters, yes, but at my age that breaks my neck. I used to use Firefox because I could have tabs down. Not now. It is not ergonomic. Is it time to abandon it? Think about the needs of others. Of all of them.
