It does not interfere with the functioning of Google but I have no idea how this situation occurred. I am concerned about privacy and security. This does not happen when I use Chrome as my browser. I have to stay on an old OSX (Mac 10.11) and use Firefox 78.15.0esr (for various reasons I cannot upgrade). I had an adblocker that worked brilliantly, but a few weeks ago it was removed (not by me), so the Ads came back!
Recent attempts to download ad blocker as before were not successful. ?incompatibility I think.
